Needed Rain.

We have received some well needed rain this month. Today we received 1.59" bringing the monthly total up to 4.75"

When this month started I didn't really think that we were going to get enough rain to keep the soy beans alive but now I am wondering if we have gotten to much rain and killed the little plants, the larger plants will be fine but there are a few fields that were planted only a week ago and the plants are less that 2" tall, this much rain on that small of a plant isn't good and its to late to replant any acreage that may have been lost. Only time will tell.

Until next time.

BTW talked to our son he will be home from Iraq by September 15th! Were all looking forward to having him back state side, and it will be even better in May of 2010 when he will be stationed in the lower 48, Alaska is a long drive or flight and there is never enough time for a good visit.

Swine Flu FREAK OUT

OK I don't know if I can listen to any more about this swine flu.

36,000 people in the United States die every year because of the flu, that's 3000 people every month or 10 people every day, 365 days a year.

There has been 1 death in the United States but everyone is freaking out, so I guess what I am saying is people need to take a chill pill because you have a better chance of dying from the everyday flu than you do from the swine flu! I guess its only a problem right now because its a new virus, maybe in a few days it will be old news and people will start talking about something else.

Back up and running!

After a week with no power or internet we are back up and running. We lost power back on January 27th at 6:30 pm and it was finally restored today February 4th at 10:30 am. I have posted some pictures to my web site of the Ice Storm. I am hoping to get a good night sleep for a change tonight.

Off Season

Well it has been slow as far as weather this winter, we haven't even received any measureable snowfall. We have taken this off time to update our main website and create a second blog for our Storm Chasing Moments. The Chase Blog will be updated before, during and after chases. we will post pictures of the weather along with video of the storms we chased. You will be able this year to watch what we see by going to www.severestudios.com and watch our live video stream. We hope this is an interesting yet safe storm season for everyone.

Until next time,

Andrew

Unusual December Weather

It was an interesting Saturday around here with temperatures getting in to the lower to mid 70's. It made for interesting weather all over the Mid-South. The storm blew through here in the matter of minutes and was then on its way East.
